1-6
Record for Bloomfield
Saturday,
October 21, 2006
Records
were shattered by the Bloomfield Basketball Team but not the way
they wanted to remember.
This
after they ended their forgettable 2006 LPSAA basketball tournament
campaign with a 48-34 loss to Southville International School
at the Aguilar Sports Complex in Pilar Village.
Southville
controlled the game right from the start and eventually built
a 30-19 halftime lead. The international school took a 40-21,
the biggest in the third after a series of baskets that started
on two triples by former Bloomfield Grade School varsity player
Michael Martin.
The
lead eventually grew to 46-25 minutes before the end of the match.
Richmond
Ricafort led Bloomfield with 10 points, the lone double-digit
scorer by the team while Migs Alvarez had eight markers.
The
cagers played without Aaron Pante and Carlo Difuntorum, among
others for personal reasons.
The
loss gave the school a 1-6 record, their worst win-loss card ever
posted in the history of the event while missing the Final Four
as well.
After
securing its first, and only win against Divine Light Academy,
Bloomfield loss by a huge margin to St Anthony School and against
Blessed Trinity School by default. The team contested that the
default by BTS was caused by miscommunication over the scheduling
of the match after the games were slightly rescheduled following
Typhoon Milenyo.
Yet,
the damage has been done, losing its first three games by double-digit
margin, Bloomfield had a hard time to find wins in the LPSAA this
time.
